First Frontier Appalachian Trails is a growing off-road trail system in Eastern Kentucky. Spanning 22 counties. The system is designed for ATVs, UTVs, overlanders, Jeeps, and dirt bikes. Registration (permit) is required and can be done online. Register and get your electronic permit HERE. Same-day registration is also accepted.
Access to these trails can be had without driving on any roads, with trails that begin at the campsites. There is plenty of room to store your trailer/rigs during your stay. Community water for washing down your rigs after a hard day riding.

Tour the home place and see the “Butcher Holler” where she grew up. Its a short 4X4 ride from the campsites, or, travel a little farther by car.
Dewey Lake is a 1,100-acre lake at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park extending 18 1/2 miles. There are 22 shoreline picnic areas available for public use, tables, grills, and two shoreline camping areas (boat access only). The marina offers 153 open slips, four launching ramps and pontoon boat rental. Enjoy a scenic getaway with lakeside lodging at the Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Dewey Lake has many facilities for visitor recreation and pleasure: biking, boating, camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, picnicking, recreational vehicles, water sports, swimming, and wildlife viewing. Launch ramps for boating enthusiasts and fishermen are located at the marina, Goble Branch Boat Launch, Stratton Branch Boat Launch, Terry Boat Launch and German Campground. Nestled among the mountains, this lake is a favorite for catching largemouth bass, crappie and catfish.
